Formal Testing Report of IPG Laser Source

Nowadays, competition of laser industry is more and more fierce. In order to save cost, some suppliers offer Copied IPG laser source (that is to say, laser source is made in China)to customers, but they delcared that their IPG is genuine.Some new user of laser machines may be attracted by their cheaper price， unfortunately，the quality sucks.

Several points you need check after you got XTLASER machine

This blog for customers who have already worked with XTLASER. After you got machine, pls follow those steps: 

1. Unpack the wooden case to check if machine in good condition.
2. You'd better tighten the screw again if necessary because maybe the screw loose during the transportation.
3.You will find a piece of power supply line in machine, just like photo show.

You will see 3 colors wire, red, yellow and black. We reserve them for you to connect with your air switch. Engineer said, air swtich is safe for industrial machine. (Notice: from 2015, we changed this point, use plug instead of reserved wires.)

Wires explaination: 

4.  As for fixture bars, we always fix them on work table before delivery, just like photo shows: 

 You can fix bars as your product. If you use it well, it will improve your work efficiency obviously.  Fox example, you want to mark electrical meter, then you can fix as photo shows. Then you needn't find right position everytime.

Here also is a video of marking carton box, it will help you make sense. 

5. The last but not least, laser transmission by fiber laser cable. So if the cable broken, you cannot use machine. So please pay attention the yellow fiber laser cable, do not bend it. 

Besides, after you open machine and computer. Pls check if you have relaxed "E-stop" button. Sometimes, we always press it down before delivery. Pls remember check E-stop button and release this button before you start to work.

Different types of fiber laser marker

There are many types fiber laser marker to satisfy different indutries. Today I will share with you 7 types fiber laser marker, as following: 

1. Desktop type 

This type uses widely. It equips desktop industrial PC, so it has a bigger cabinet. If you have a big workshop, and your product size is not big, not very heavy, then choose this type. It's practical. 

2. Mini type. 

Mini type also is the one of most popular models because its samll size. It will save users' floor size, but also save freight if you choose to delivery by air(by DHL/Fedex/TNT express). The only difference between desktop type and mini type is desktop type equips desktop PC while mini type equips laptop. All core spare aprts assemble in a small cabinet(the left part in the photo), so it will save space, also it's easy to move. 

3. Portable type 

Portable type is more easier to move or put in different places. Net weight only 35KG, easy to carry. Now it's the smallest laser marking machine in market. 

Desktop and mini type adjust focal length though lifting column and rotating handle, but portable type adjust focal length by 3D worktable. 

you can rotate screws get work table left-right-up-down. Another way, you also can put machine on a higher table, then  put your product on a lower table to adjust focal length, then mark your product. 

Another advantage is portable type also can mark heavier and bigger products. Before that, you need take 3D work table off, then put machine in a proper position.

4. Handheld type

you see, very like portable type. The different is you can take the optical bench off when you mark big heavy objects. Just like this:

So you can tell supplier your work/product, then let them introduce you a proper model.

5. Enclosure type.

Enclosure type-very popular in Europe market. It can protect operator's safety. User can set"marking only close the door". But this type also expensive than other types.  Besides, this type adjust focal length by press button. It's automatic. you may press "up" or "down" to adjust focal length. 

6. Mini type/desktop type/portable type+rotary axis

Adding a rotary axis, it uses to mark round product.

7. Detached type 

This type mainly use to mark big and heavy products.

Explaination for desktop fiber laser marking system

This article for those people who want to know more about fiber laser marking machine. Actually, it's not hard. Today I will show you hardware parts of machine. Tomorrow I will show you software. Anyway, hope it will help you. 

1. First we see the work principle of laser marking machine. 

Work principle: fiber laser belongs to heat treatment, machine can mark signs on product by burn its surface.  



2. Features: Fiber laser marking machine is one of the most advanced laser marking equipment in the world nowadays, because of stable output power, great optical model, excellent quality of laser beam, fast marking speed and best marking effect and efficiency. Also, it is easy to operate, no consumption, low power consumption, and free maintenance.

3. More incomparable advantages like: better and thinner marking lines, and permanent marking. Fiber laser marking machine is capable of being applied into more advanced industries that need higher demand of depth, smoothness and precision, and perfectly meet requirement of consecutive working in industries.

4. Wavelength is 1064nm, this decides that it can mark most of metal (Stainless steel, Aluminium, Brass .etc) and nonmetal materials (PVC, ABS.etc) , application is wide.

5.Fiber laser marking machine has many models for your choice, desktop, detached type, enclosure type, mini, portable, handheld etc.. (I will share with you in future.)

Functions of every part of fiber laser marking machine:

Laser come out from fiber laser source(we talk it later), then through optical bench, at last will arrive at laser head,

Laser head is also called Galvo(marking)head, inside, there is two small mirrors (X axis and Y axis), so laser beam 

can be focused and reflected on workpieces.

Field lens: Also called F-Theta/f-θ lens,it is fixed on Laser head, it controls marking area, our standard marking area include:50*50 110*110 175*175 200*200 300*300mm.etc.
 

 Laser beam path: it is connected with Laser head, inside the path, laser beam go through it,inside the laser path,there have an red indicator near the laser head.

Next, Lifting column. 

 adjust height of laser head and laser beam path, so you can adjust focus distance between laser head and workpieces.

Next,laser arrived on 2D work table. (put your workpiece on table)

 Two direction can be changed. On its surface, it has lines of screw hole, which is used to fix workpieces.

Now we check control panel. 

From left to right, you see "Red Spot""Scanner Power""Laser power""E-Stop" and main power. Oh, not miss USB interface. 

"Red Spot": swtich of red indicator. 

"Scanner power": switch of Scanner head. 

"Laser Power": switch of fiber laser source. 

"E-stop": You can press it when in emergency condition. 

"Main power": You need open it first when you want to start machine. 

Then control carbinet(in front of machine), you will find computer main power button.

Next, we open the door of cabinet. 

Wow..you see, the core parts of laser marking machine. Laser souce, control card, power supply etc...really easy,  is it?
